My inspiration for Safe Passage came from the Seul Choix Point Lighthouse, built in the 1890's on the northern shores of Lake Michigan. Its name is French for "only choice". This lighthouse is the epitome of lighthouses, not only guiding the way for sailors to this harbor of refuge, but also as a symbol of strength, offering security, warmth and hope for the weary traveler. (Off-set lithograph printed from an original watercolor painting.) |
